Lancasphere LogoLancasphere’s Evolution of Sound returns to The Candy Factory’s Warehouse D on Saturday, September 19 at 7:00pm. Evolution of Sound is an evening of completely improvised experimental music featuring ten area musicians.
Filmmaker Stephen Ulrich returns to provide us with improvised visual projects responding to the music in real time.
Here’s how it the Evolution of Sound works:

Ten musicians from a variety of backgrounds will participate. The first musician will perform five minutes of improvised music on his/her instrument of choice. The second musician will join the first musician and the duo will perform for another five minutes. Then, the third musician will join in and the first musician will leave the stage. The second and third musicians will perform as a duo for five minutes until the fourth joins.
This rotation will continue with two musicians performing at a time until all ten musicians have performed. At that time each musician will rejoin the performance as they are inspired until the entire group is playing at once. The music will be performed continuously and will evolve as each musician brings his/her influence.
