I have had the pleasure of knowing Mark Stuart for nearly 20 years. In the mid-1990s I played in a Nashville band that was lucky enough to share several stages with Mark and his wife, singer-songwriter Stacey Earle. Since then, they’ve traveled extensively as a duo throughout the United States and beyond, performing hundreds of shows each year.
Since 2012, Wood Stove House had the privilege of hosting Mark and Stacey at two house concerts here in Lancaster. Later this month Mark returns for a stop on his current solo tour at the brand new Threshold Event Center, located at 150 S. Prince St. in downtown Lancaster. This new listening room opened its doors in July and will be hosting a plethora of local, regional, and national touring acts in the months and years ahead.
Mark Stuart has been playing music professionally since he was 15 years old. Along with being a multi-instrumentalist and veteran singer-songwriter, Mark’s fabulous guitar work landed him touring gigs playing alongside Texas legend Freddy Fender, folk rocker Steve Forbert, and country rocker Steve Earle. While his duo work with Stacey is on hiatus this year, Mark has embarked on a solo tour where he plays great guitar pieces, self-penned songs from his solo albums, and “tribute” songs to those notable artists he has worked with along his journey. Mark is also an amazing storyteller and loves to include tales from the road during his performances.
Don’t miss Mark Stuart at the Threshold Event Center, 150 S. Prince St., Friday, August 29 at 7pm. Call 717-925-4423 for tickets.
